Come to Bed

The first time I went to the Rouge to hang out with my (everybody's friend) Anubis, he told me to cam out. I'm glad he did because while dancing the night away in the red chaos that is the interior of the Rouge, I would have missed the coolest thing ever. The land is built up in all red, shaped like a woman. Ultra sexy and pretty awesome.

Like many things in SL, places lose their novelty and land tiers are rather expensive when translating into real life dollars. I'll never quite figure out why real estate is so darn expensive, save that LL needs to make it's money somehow. Any ways, there are a ton of clubs out there in Second Life, but the Rouge is a unique little niche. So unique and treasured that creators have come together to raise funds for the Rouge's operating costs.

This outfit is one of the many available. There's nothing sexier than lounging around in your man's overly large shirt so he can seek all the yummy parts. Somnia has two lingerie sets that comes with an overshirt. Something for your parter to unbotton and reveal the ultra sexy bra and panties beneath - which you can see peeking out from the neckline. Hubba hubba!

There are many wonderful deals at the I <3 Rouge Event from many awesome brands, such as FATEWear (have you seen the red suit!), Discord Design exclusives, Sn@tch, ibang...the list goes on. So go over and check it out as well as pass a few extra lindens to Rouge's donation box.

Prelude to a Kiss

So I've been working on my pose store Picture This! Poses. It's been a fun little outlet of creativity to me. Mostly, because it makes me push my photo editing skills a bit further. Ultimately, I make poses because I enjoy making pictures so darn much. This is my latest pose for couples, it's called Prelude to a Kiss. I tried new things with this photo, such as windlights and masking. I think it turned out pretty nice. I used Strawberry Singh's "Diamond" Windlight, which you can download from her blog.

Stay tuned on SL Blogger Support. I'm going to do a tutorial on the high lights.

I Think I'm Turning Japanese..
Contributed by Xomar Mycron

Xomar back for another unnecessary fashion post. What's that, you say? I don't look like Xomar? Well, this true. Actually, there is so much concentrated awesomeness within me that had I attempted to bottle it all inside just one avatar...we're talking the equivalent of a star collapsing on itself and sucking all of Second Life into a black hole of nothingness. I couldn't bear to be the destruction of the internet's most popular fake clothing shop outside of World of Warcraft, so I've been known to create a few alts. They actually come in pretty handy for roleplaying...and you know, hiding for psychopathic exes.

*Waves to his psychopathic exes*

Meet Jubei, my Japanese vampiric Yakuza boss who runs a club within the realm of Raven City, formerly Ravenhurst. His story is quite the tapestry of intrigue and adventure, but I'm not going to tell you about that. I know; that would be way more interesting than what I'm wearing, but sorry, blog rules and all. Send all complaints to Tits McGee.

Bare Rose was one of the first shops I discovered in Second Life when I joined...holy shit, it's been 6 years!? What have I been doing with my life?!

*sobs in the corner for an hour*

Sorry, where was I? Oh, right, Bare Rose has long been a source for inventive and extremely affordable outfits, geared more towards roleplay fantasy and sci fi wear. I'd say high quality too, but, well, it's sort of hit or miss, really. However, with prices from 150-200 Linden for complete outfits, you'll rarely feel like you were ripped off like you would from other shops. It seems they've finally gotten into the Mesh game and so far I'm rather impressed.

As I mentioned, they're very good for various RP outfits, especially if you're looking for any sort of Japanese/Anime appearance. I decided to go with the samurai because, let's face it, samurais are awesome. I know some people will go on about ninjas, but samurais have always had a soft spot in my heart since I read Shogun back in Jr. High. Their code of honor, known as bushido, was so powerful that they had the will to commit suicide, or seppuku in the name of their lord or daimyo to defend it. Of course, most of it is bullshit, historical revisionism during World War II in order to push forward on their drive to conquer all of Asia, but it's still pretty bad ass. Plus, Star Wars is basically a rip off of a samurai movie by the great Japanese director Kurosawa, The Hidden Fortress. So, it has that going for it, too. Everyone loves Star Wars...at least until Lucas ruined it with the prequels and than set fire to the legacy of Indiana Jones. But I digress which is distracting me from getting a refill. Sayonara, peeps.

52 Weeks of Color: Hunter Green

It's another round of 52 Weeks. I used this challenge to dig through my virtual closet and try to scare up something I hadn't worn for awhile and found this sweater from Acid and Mala, which used to be one of my favorite stores. Sadly, they haven't really jumped on the mesh bandwagon. Still, on the older things, some of the textures are golden and will more than likely forever remain a part of my wardrobe.

Also, I think I'm rocking green eyes pretty well. Truth, as you know, released three new hairs (one of them being a free subscriber gift!) and this one, Guinevere, is my favorite. It's so pretty.

Fairy Guardians

Harvest Dezno, a fellow blogger and fashion designer, recently put out a blogging challenge: Blog with another Blogger. I'm all for this idea. Why? I love taking pictures with other people. Sometimes taking pictures of just yourself can get kind of bland.

So I put out the call on Plurk and got a nibble from Shay. With the Arcade Gatcha Event in full swing, I wanted to focus on the lovely skins from Glam Affair.

Ahoy, Me Hearties!
Contributed by Xomar Mycron

Ahoy, ya land lubbers! Captain Xomar back for 'nother round of sartorial nonsense for the beauty with the most impressive treasure chests that keeps the wind a blowin' and the grog a flowin', Keliah. Speaking of which, I think I need some alcohol.

*heads into the bowels of his ship and fiddles with his bunghole.*

Alright, where were we? Oh, right, it's talk like a pirate day and I'm already exhausted with the silliness of it all, Especially since pirates didn't talk anywhere near like they do in the movies. Nor did they actually make people walk the plank or bury treasure to be found by later generations of Goonies to save their towns from development. In fact, almost every cool thing that pirates are associated with is all bullshit. Why are they so popular, I hear nobody asking? I'm going to go with their fashion sense. Peg legs, eye patches, and puffy shirts make quite the statement.

Now, I've been many things in SL, Russian spy, asshole, vampire, giant asshole, Gorean outlaw, unrepentant asshole, but pirate is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, there haven't been a lot of quality swag for pirating over the years. However, with the magic of mesh, I've found what has to be the best pirating get up amongst the seven seas...of Marketplace. The store Snatched created by Braydon Randt, an old acquaintance from my Gor days (ZAO represent!), has this awesome outfit simply called Buccaneer. It comes in several different colors; I'm wearing the natural version with a basic white shirt/brown pants combination. If there's anything to complain about this item aside from the laughably bad mesh beard (have they made a beard yet that doesn't look like you skinned a Loraxx and glued it to your face? if so, I haven't seen it) is the fact that your midsection is rather, uh, meaty. Let's just say you'll feel like maybe you should cut back on the grog and start jogging or something.

Either way, get in the spirit and strike a jaunty pose on a barrel before yer keelhauled, ye scallywags!

Let's Do it in the Kitchen

Blog, that is. I can't get enough of these smart little sweaters by Tres Blah. I'm seriously just in love with all the mesh things they have put out for Collabor88 over time. The textures, the details, the fit...always a winner for me and worth all the lindens I could possibly give. Paired with the slouchy, patchwork cords from evolve and some hair-for-sale at Elikatira, I earn the title of adorable.

Miami Vice
Contributed by Xomar Mycron

Hello peeps; Xomar back again for another round of partially informed reviews by people far more talented than I am. I'd like to say that I felt the need to review more of FATEwear clothing out of a sense of duty, but it's mostly because this particular outfit gave me 80s flashbacks to when Don Johnson was cool and, more importantly, thin. The white sportcoat with t-shirt combination totally screams out Miami Vice, so I decided to try my best to imitate Tubbs and Crocket as best I could.

As with all FATEwear clothing, the mesh item itself is practically a work of art, and the textures, while being as cold and sterile as a 70's Sci Fi movie costume, still look amazing. My only complaint with the coat is the European cut. I hate sport coats with one button and the rear vents are way too close to the middle of the jacket, two vents also being a little too Eurotrash for me. Then again, some jackets I've seen don't even have a vent, which makes you look like you just bought a crappy 90's suit from the Men's Wearhouse. The lapels on this coat are a little too wide for the style it's going for, but it's easy enough to overlook. I would have preferred to have the t-shirt tucked in for that 80's look, but the untucked shirt is just the right length, being out for that casual feel, while being short enough to remain under the coat; the modern high/low style that's so popular in men's fashion nowadays.

The slacks are also nicely textured with a more casual break in the pant length, looking a little more rumpled and devil may care than, say, Hoorenbeek's dress pants. I finished it off with a pair of boat shoes from Gabriel and, of course, no socks. Funny  how that trend has made an appearance once again. If you wait around long enough, your clothes and fashion will always come back in style. Except for giant shoulder pads. Those will never come back. The 90s were just an abomination.

Of course, putting this look together, I felt like I was missing something. You can't have Sonny Crocket without Rico Tubbs! It's like peanut butter without jelly, Lewis without Clark, Lindsay Lohan without gonorrhea. I thought about contacting Philip Michael Thomas, because after looking at his IMDb page, I'm pretty sure he was available. But, he's also old, so I'd probably have to teach him how to use a computer and what these internet tubes are all about, so it was easier to just to get another stand in. Cheaper, too. But, probably not by much.

This is Supposed to be a Post about the Arcade...

...but it's turning into a letter to my SL boyfriend instead. Ant, because you are taking a break from plane making and reading this, the biggest thing that attracted me to Second Life is because it's like and adult version of Barbie Dolls. And by adult I don't mean pervy stuff, though plenty of people on Second Life certainly love to do dirty things and that's awesome - What I mean is the dress up. The skins, the hairs, the clothes.

But, it's become so much more than that. If I didn't have this second life hobby, I would have never met you, and meeting you has really made my whole second life. Scratch that, it has made my real life that much more enriching. I love your texts throughout the day. I love our time together. I love the sound of your voice. I love that you love cats, airplanes, and get excited over fun, silly things. I love that I may have won your heart (I'm talkin' freckles here) over a Silly Walk AO and a pair of Groucho glasses.

All that romantic stuff I just wrote totally justifies me dedicating this post featuring frontal nudity to you.

FATEwear: A Review
Contributed by Xomar Mycron

So, Damien Fate, the co-creator of Cold Logic and the man behind the new FATEwear men's clothing line somehow decided that I was a blogger and sent me over some stuff to...um...blog, I suppose. I'm not sure how the hell that happened, but I'm thinking a certain redhead might have been responsible for it. No matter; I've got free crap so I might as well review some of it. This is a little weird for me because not only am I not really a blogger who offers reviews, but also I'm stone sober. I should probably rectify that last problem. Excuse me for a moment.

*heads off the kitchen for some scotch*

First off, I have to say that everything I was handed was crafted with exquisite care and talent; this wasn't your average template texture type gear. However, I have to say that the textures and color scheme he uses are a little bland for my tastes. It feels very cold and sterile, like I just walked into the doctor's office and am afraid to touch anything, one because it looks like it's freezing to the touch, the other because God knows what sick freak has put their hands all over everything before I stepped inside.

Another problem I have with the collection I've seen, including pieces I wasn't sent for the blogger review, is that their seems to be overlapping items in order to make an outfit. This might work for female clothing, but I'm not sure I really want to buy the same shirt twice because it comes with different pants or a different tie this time. The model that Hoorenbeek has set, most of their clothes having multiple options that can be mixed and matched with their other pieces, seems to be the optimal design for men's clothing. Case in point; Hoorenbeek's shirts all come with options to wear underneath one of their existing mesh coats. With FATEwear, you pretty much have to buy a preexisting outfit with a shirt that will fit under the coat instead. It's a minor thing to pick at, but mixing and matching my clothing is hard enough with mesh clothing all fitting differently; making it even more complicated within the same designer seems unnecessary.

Now that I've done a good job being the Baby Ruth in the swimming pool, I should probably tell you what I do like. As I mentioned above, the clothes themselves look like real clothing. The subtle wrinkles, the shading, the details with the buttons and cuffs, they're probably better than anything you'll find in SL at the moment. I decided to choose two of his more basic items to show you just how well they fit. The shirt I'm wearing, Hank, is your standard baseball t-shirt, but just look at the way the carefully crafted wrinkles about the midwaist and the subtle shading on the chest. It actually looks like there's a body underneath as opposed to some sort of claymation Gumby figure like much of the mesh templates out right now. The pantleg breaks at the bottom of the jeans are probably my favorite of any jeans I've seen in SL. Even better, these jeans don't make you look like you just took a massive dump in them. That right there puts them near the top of the list. I did have to adjust my shape a bit, but that seems to be the standard with mesh. FATEwear seems to run a little smaller since I was just too damn big. That's often a problem, but mostly with the ladies. They're always screaming about me being too big which is usually a sign I need to tighten their ballgags.

This combination reminded me of my high school days and playing two hand touch football in the alley behind my buddy's apartment building, so I figured, what the hell, it's just recreate it, complete with inappropriate footwear choices. I don't care how cool Vans look, playing anything in them is usually a good way to end up with a nice sprained ankle.

In a New York Minute

I have reason to celebrate! This is my 100th post. Boy has this blog come a long way since day one. It's my goal to continue to grow - after all, I have no other way to go.

Fall is in the digital air. Fashion has made a left turn away from summery vibrance into autumn styles. Coats, sweaters, leggings. I'm ecstatic! I love fall and winter fashion so much. Probably because I am not subject to it in my real life seeing as I live in the tropics and all.

Like my background? It's the New York Apartment by Apple Fall.

I Don't Always Wear Full Perm, but When I do...
Contributed by Xomar Mycron

Since Keliah missed my colossal presence so much (only slightly smaller than my ego), I've thrown together another post for her to dump onto her blog whenever she gets around to it. I believe she told me my last submission was great filler to which I responded, "Of course it's great. Consider the source!" Anyways, I've seen these mesh robes floating about in various places and finally stumbled upon the original template full perm version from Meli Imako. Like any red blooded American male, I've always looked upon Hugh Hefner with awe (well, until he turned into a decrepit little muppet who's still getting laid like tile as long as he has his Viagra), so the idea of lounging around bedraped in the mantle of King of Poon appealed very much. The problem was that I could not find a robe colored to match my ridiculous argyle slippers. Full perm to the rescue! As far as being a builder, I know only enough to completely ruin any item I have that's mod, but I have managed to figure out how to tint colors properly and presto, change-o, the exact robe that I want.

Now, I can't be sporting a robe just anywhere. There's a fine line between what Hefner does and that crazy old homeless guy on 4th and Spring who wanders around in a disheveled, brown bathrobe screaming obscene retorts to the voices in his head. That line is, of course, money. To paraphrase Tony Montana, first you get the money, then you get the power, and then you get the women. He also said 'say hello to my little friend,' which seemed oddly appropriate while gyrating your hips in a robe. But I digress. I picked up this skybox at the past August Collabor88 by Barnseworth Anubis called Fabienne pied-a-tierre. What does that name mean? Hell if I know, but it sounds foreign and we all know chicks dig European accents. Well, except for the German, because, let's face it, they're just frightening to listen to. Where was I? Oh, right, the skybox. It has the high ceilings and molding of an old European apartment or high end hotel room like something out of a House Hunters International episode.

Sometimes after a hard days work, all you need is a comfortable robe, slippers, a glass of scotch, a smoke, and nubile redhead sexily wrinkling up your favorite shirt. The mileage on the redhead may vary, but in this case I have Lexie doing the honors. Luckily, she's wearing another full perm creation by Meli Imako called Ladies Men's shirt, which is much better than my actual one. She's pretty terrible at ironing, you see.

All About Auxiliary

Today marks the official opening of September's Collabor88. I actually stayed up until 3:00 am so that I could be there for the opening, which is not something I usually do because, um, 3:00 am is a bit extreme. I just wanted Auxulary's new Mullet top that bad. I was lucky enough to snag it before every female in the grid teleported into the SIM.

If you're not apart of IKON's VIP group, go now and join. The group joining fee is free and for the first weekend of every month she releases an awesome group gift.

Red Room Diva

Dilly Dolls released a whole bunch of versions of her amazing Dashsa pumps. I love these shoes. They are whimsy and youthful. Incidentally, I had a whole closet of shoes like these in my real life when I was a (much younger) goth. The buckles and the shoes are HUD controlled so you can cook up many different looks on one shoe.

My t-shirt comes from Tres Blah for Collabor88. If you haven't been over there yet, you have a few days still to swoop in on the goodies.
