Sahara Gold


It's the first of the month, which means turnover on a few noteworthy events (like faMESHed!) and new releases by some of our favorite designers. For many fans of IKON eyes, it's gift week! In case you live in a box, are starting on your Second Life journey, or have an alt that needs some updating, IKON always delivers an exciting group gift to loyal members by offering a free product for the first week of each month. The group is free to join and you can pick up these lovely 'Sahara' gold eyes until July 7th.

I'm sort of loving the bold lines outlining my picture. I stumbled into the easiest technique of doing it while adding grain to an earlier picture. It's so stupidly easy, but I think it looks kind of cool. Stay tuned on SL Blogger Support for a tutorial.

Holiday Gifts




It's the most wonderful time of the year. Christmas and holiday gifts are abound on the Grid. Content creators are showing their love and generosity to friends, family, and well, pretty much anyone. If you are not a member of FATAL's group, you are seriously missing out. At the mainstore, look under the tree! There are so many lovely gifts for both men and women if you're wearing the group tag.

Speaking of gifts, have you been to Lelutka? In case you're not aware of the holiday gifts being offered for Lelukta group members, they have a pack of incredible mesh hairs along with a mesh Christmas Tree. On top of that, the mesh hairs come with an adorable hat from Celoe.

Alright guys. If you're like me, then you're a skin junkie. I love skins. They change the entire look and feel of your avatar. I especially love it when I can get quality, artistic skins for a great deal or discount. I have a couple of alts that I use for RP purposes and for the most part I don't like to spend a lot of linden on them. The first thing that grabbed my attention from the With Love Hunt by Chic Management is that there were plenty of skins to be had. When we create a new account in Second Life, the one thing we really want to invest in is a good, decent skin. If you don't have a lot of money, skins from hunts and promotions are a great way to grab a skin for little linden. So, I took my alt out on a skin shopping spree. All these skins were only 10L a piece and all by quality designers. Also, I got to sample Laura Hurley for the first time as well as Essences, skins that I have never tried before. 

All of these skins are beautiful. The PXL skin is well done and the grey undertones of the skin almost make my alt look a little glam-vamp. The Laura Hurley is ultra sultry, the Glam Affair soft and romantic. My favorite is probably the Essences skin mostly because of it's versatility. This is a great skin because it doesn't have a lot of make up and the lips are a soft pink. You can easily use cosmetics to change your look if you need to and Essences even has free lipsticks at their Jersey Store location.

This last skin is the December Group Gift for Al Vulo. I love this skin because of the soft lips and the eyeliner, which is a look I sport often in RL. The freckles are well done. This is a great skin for a redhead! If you have the Lola breasts, there is an applier to go with it. Best of all this skin is free. It's probably one of the prettiest Al Vulo skins I've yet to own and it didn't cost me a single Linden.

Show Your Pride


I am not really a sports fan. Sure, events are fun to go to sometimes and if you have a favorite team it can be pretty exciting to sit in the stadium and root, root, root for your home team (see what I did there?), but I've just never really been into it. When I was a child, my mother enlisted me in all the junior sport teams and I just never really cared and so I was put in the furthest spot on the field where my fantastic imagination was free to wander and dream. I hate sports on television. The commercials and advertisements have more airtime than the sport. It makes me want to tear my eyes out with a spoon. 

However! I don't feel this way about the Olympics. I love to watch the Olympics because to me it's so much more than watching some sporting event. The Olympics represent world unity in my eyes. The people who compete against each other seem to genuinely care for their fellow Olympians. Iranian competitors compete alongside with Americans and there's no politics - just two people trying to do their best and win pride for their country while competing in an event who's history nods all the way back to ancient Greece.

Indrya Originals' latest release is dedicated to team pride. Which country are you rooting for? Technically, I am an American (though I could get away with wearing the German jersey, too). I am proud of our Olympians. I want them to succeed and take pride in their skills and feats. But, I'm the type of person to root for everyone. I see someone pushing themselves, I'm there with my cheers. I don't care who wins the medal. Go humanity! 

And pick up this sporty, fun outfit! It comes with all the flags and a fun little hat.

500 Lindens, You Say?

 If it weren't for Lexie Vaher and Xomar Mycron, I probably would have never heard of freebie shopping. Nor would I have realized that there is a world of amazing freebies out there ripe for the picking, and if you know where to go, and where to get things, then you can easily make an avatar for under 500L. And now it's been issued as a challenge. Maribel Button has laid down the gauntlet. Challenge accepted.



 This look costs well under $500.00, but it's not totally free. For one, the skin comes from Mynerva. Technically, it is a free item, but you must join the group to get it, which is a whole whopping 50L to join. On top of this skin, there are two other skins up for grabs, a shape, cleavage options, and some cosmetics. So it's a pretty sweet deal. The other item that is not free is the belt from Nyte n' Day. It costs a whole 95L.

 Please note: The shorts are a Depraved Nation Summer Love hunt which ends on 07/15/2012, so they will not be available for much longer. However, there are free denim shorts at COCO that would still give you the same 'look'. COCO's group is free to join.

Surreal

 Okay, a SL photographer/blogger could go on about windlights, but I want to talk about the weird ones. Orc Drawing? Uh, okay. Surreal. Why? I was going to blog about this gorgeous dress from Fameshed. There's a group gift for men and women available to Fameshed group - the ladies being a super sexy maxi from Valentina E. Couture.

 I'm taking my picture, I'm flipping through windlights, and suddenly I land on the Surreals. Now I know why they exist. I love this picture!


There is no post editing done to this picture save for cropping. I look like I'm inked in a comic book.

52 Weeks of Color: Unmellow Yellow

It's the 25th week of Luna Jubilee's 52 Weeks of Color Challenge Part Deux featuring a favorite color of mine: Yellow. I love yellow! It's so bright and cheerful. So I have mixed feelings about blogging with my Curio skin while Gala Phoenix is currently trying to get her store back. Right now Curio skins are unavailable, so is it fair to post images with a skin that can not be purchased as or right now? Does it matter if I'm not a professional blogger, but rather a hobbiest? Is the focus more on the clothes or is it the whole avatar?
